Ivan

Birthday Wishes do come true. ❤ Hello facebook friends, Let me tell you my story.... My hoomans were very sad after losing their newly adopted boy Borzoi Thor suddenly on Christmas day 2023 as most of you know. My new Mamma only wanted another Borzoi to rescue. She looked everyday on the rescue site. After almost two months had passed, and there were no matches she thought maybe it wasn't the right time. One could never replace their beautiful Thor, but it would help another in need, and ease their sorrow.
On the day before my new Mamma's birthday she wished if only one would come along. In fact she even mentioned the best birthday gift ever, would be if a Borzoi came back into their lives. That afternoon the most incredible thing happened. Edna Hanley from the National Borzoi Rescue Foundation called to let her know a possible Boy named Flash (me) may be surrendered by their owner, but it wasn't certain yet. The very next day on her birthday, Edna called and sang Happy birthday to her! I was available!!! That Saturday February the 24th I arrived!
Let me introduce myself, my new name is Ivan. Ivan the great for when I'm a very good boy, and Ivan the terrible when I'm naughty (like when I chewed the corner arm on my Daddy's Stickley mission office chair. Fortunately, My Mamma is very good at restoration. 😆
The first month was challenging for my new Hoomans, and It was rough for me. I was scared, I was super finicky, and I wouldn't eat. I was very, very talkative (whiny, barky) to the point Mamma almost lost her mind, and I even got into a fight with my new housemate! But low and behold.....with lots of love, trust, and training I am now turning into the most incredible boy! It is now about 3 months, and I have blossomed into the most incredible addition to the Gambuzza Pack. My Hoomans want to give a special thank you to Edna, Liz (for help with training support), and the whole NBRF team for everything they do, and the sacrifices they make for us. We are wonderful dogs in need.

Happy Gotcha day to our Ivan who came into our lives a year ago. Michael drove to the MA border to pick him up for his new life with us. The ride home was filled with lots of chatter, and the chatter continued for exactly 3 months. Almost text book for him to acclimate to his new environment. He blossomed into a very loving happy boy who has brought us much joy. He loves to nudge your armpit for hugs and kisses, loves to lick your ears, play with Mr. Bill, Jump high like he's flying (we call him batboy), eat snowbanks, and wrestle with Angelo. A huge thank you to all the hard working members of NBRF 💗
