Good Bye Dragon

We had to put our beloved Draggie down on New Year's Day. He had a couple of really frighteneing seizures on Saturday night, and on Sunday it was pretty clear that he was really suffering. Because of the holiday, we had to take him to a diagnostic animal clinic and not our regular vet. The fatty tumor I mentioned before turned out to be nothing, but they did a chest xray and found that he had metastatic cancer that had spread just about everywhere, and because of the seizures, probably to his brain also. There was really nothing left to do but end his pain. We are so devastated. It would be hard to put into words what a wonderful friend he was, he came along at a challenging time in my life, and his goofy, charming personality lifted our spirits every day that he was with us, and those at the nursing home as well. I guess it was his calling.

Thanks so much, I'm so happy I found NBRF and Dragon. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Update

Dragon's the perfect goodwill ambassador, such a wonderful dog. We just adore him. I'm so glad that I didn't let the age factor influence our decision to adopt him. He is just as playful and spry as the 2 five year olds, he keeps right up with them, loves to go for long hikes and get out to meet people, you would never guess he's almost 9. It was certainly our good fortune to check your website on the day that we did, or maybe he was just meant to be here with us, but we all want to say "Thank You!" for your help in our finding each other. Meet Dragon. He is an 8 year old neutered male and is currently in Chattanooga, TN. His original owner left her husband and family and moved to Australia. Her ex-husband does not have the time for Dragon what with a full time job and raising 3 boys, life is just too busy and Dragon seems to be left out.

This is a very sweet Boy and still has so much to offer someone who has the time for him. He is completely house trained, good with other dogs ( he is currently living with a Bull Dog) and children, at one time he did live with cats but not currently. We do know he will chase them outside but may be OK with them in the house. And did I mention, he's really Handsome too??!!

Dragon is Good Borzoi and I know would love going for walks and being part of a happy family who has time for him. It really doesn't take that much time this Boy has so much love to give back.
