It’s not often that the NBRF Team gets to catch up with the dogs we place in person so it is a great joy for one of us to visit with them and their families “in the fur.” Vicki got to do that recently with our beloved NBRF - International rescue Jackson (remember Sweet Baby Jake?) from South Korea and NBRF Domestic rescue Walker.
“I can’t really express how happy it made me to see that both of these boys who had fairly rough beginnings have turned out to be such happy, confident and well adjusted dogs! It’s one thing to hear about how well our adoptees are doing, but it really makes it all worthwhile when you see them happy in their homes.
Jackson as you may remember came from the meat market in Korea and after he got here, it was discovered he was blind in one eye and a few years later he had to have surgery for a malformed hip socket. There have been a lot of ups and downs in his short life but he is still the happy, handsome puppy I picked up at the airport 4 years ago and he still thinks he is a lap dog! He sidles up next to you on the couch and tries to sit his butt in your lap.
His favorite things are running in the yard, keeping the wascally wabbits out of his mom’s vegetable garden with Walker’s help, stealing Walker’s chair and generally being an annoying little brother. He is now too big to get away with lying on top of him though.
Walker who had 4 homes before coming into rescue is amazingly sweet and loving as well, it took him awhile to realize he had a forever home, but he certainly knows it now. They are both so well loved and well adjusted, you would never know that they came from rough beginnings. Thank you Ron and Carol, seeing how happy these guys are really reinforces that there are happily ever afters.”
Dear Ron and Carol, Jackson and Walker are proof positive that dreams do come true! Thank you for your dedication to these special boys!! These are the stories we love to hear!
Thank you, Vicki for sharing your visit! We know you showered those handsome boys with the love we all feel for each and every Borzoi in the NBRF family.
