NBRF - International Rescues Jack and Jill from Korea desperately needed help and a safe place to call home. Yesterday we shared the joy of Jack/Thor finding his happily ever after. Today is Jill/Laika's turn to make our hearts sing with hers.
"In 2018, we were checking out the Borzoi rescued near Seattle and found two dogs being fostered quite near us. So we met Jack and Jill, rescued from Korea. Jill (now Laika) made the decision for us by coming up to Al, leaning against him and giving a kiss. He was smitten.
In late December, Laika joined Kazimir, a male Borzoi, and Scarlett the poodle. The girls bonded as fur sisters. Laika was very shy and kept her head down. It took a while, but she started joining us on the sofa, and asking for attention. Laika got taller, grew more coat and filled out. She likes toys but lets Scarlett take them away (Scarlett is bossy). Laika will sometimes steal them back to entice Scarlett to chase her out to the yard.
This girl loves laying on the deck during the day, and the sofa in the evening. Her tail is different, it forms a circle! It is full and beautiful! She often barks at dogs on the TV, and likes to watch videos on my iPad. Laika is sweet, beautiful and a great addition to our pack.
We lost Kazimir in 2022, but with Laika, we still have a beautiful Borzoi."
Thank you, Patricia and Al for giving Laika a life she could only dream of! Long may you love
